Sara earned her bachelor’s degree in Biology from Lock Haven University, and a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from Rowan University, where she investigated the role of autophagy in stress response and tumorigenesis. Sara’s thesis work focused on selective autophagy in Saccharomyces cerevisiae as well as the role of autophagy in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) progression.
