Sanika is a Scientific Advisor at Riverside Law with a with a focus in biology, and materials sciences, bioengineering, biotechnology, and molecular biology. Sanika’s research expertise is based on the development of oxygen-releasing biomaterials for cardiac tissue engineering, bone tissue engineering, lung, muscle, and skin tissue engineering applications. She has experience in the synthesis and characterization of versatile hydrogel and polymer-based tissue engineering scaffolds. As a postdoctoral scientist at Arizona State University her research focused on developing biomaterials for rotator cuff repair and regeneration and other musculoskeletal tissue engineering applications. Sanika has authored 19 peer-reviewed publications and a patent and presented her research at national and international conferences.

At Riverside Law, Sanika works predominantly on patent application preparation and prosecution for a variety of technologies, specifically on matters related to tissue engineering, biologics, biotechnology, bioengineering, molecular biology, polymer chemistry, composites, and biomedical devices.
